How to Resolve Common Linksys Cloud Account Error Messages?

Linksys Wi-Fi routers can automatically identify whether you have an active internet connection or not. Simply by going to the Linksys Smart W-Fi website, you will see display error messages and prompts on your web browser.

You may even encounter issues when you are online. Before you go ahead with any other solution, you must power cycle your router by turning it off and then turning it on. You must also try switching your browser and clearing the cache of your browser. Restarting the Smart Wi-Fi router will also help. 

The Internet Connection is Down 

On the sign-in page of Linksys Smart Wi-Fi, you are going to view an error message that says the internet connection is down. This problem appears when the router is not able to detect an active internet connection from the DSL or cable provider. You can easily log in to your Smart Wi-Fi interface simply by entering the password of your router. Admin is the default password. 

Resolve Common Linksys Cloud Account Error Messages

In order to fix this problem, you need to make sure that you are receiving connectivity from your modem. Just take an ethernet cable and use it to connect your PC directly to the modem. Launch your web browser and see if you are able to open any website. 

The Router isn't Set Up

This message continues to appear if you select Retry even after getting a router not found message. You may also see this message after performing a reset on your router. To fix this problem, you need to set up your router as mentioned in the prompt.

Check the box that says I understand my network is currently open and not secure. I wish to use Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account to configure the security settings of my router and then select Continue. 

Router not Found

This error message shows up on your screen when you are logged in to your Linksys cloud account but is not able to detect your router. To resolve this issue, you must check that the wireless feature on your device is turned on.

Also, ensure that the device is not kept far from the router. If it is connected with a wire, please ensure that the cable between your device and router is securely connected. 

Account Suspended 

You may see an account suspended error message on your screen because of failed login attempts to your account. You need to wait for at least 2 hours to get this issue fixed before you try again. In case you don't remember your account details, then you must carry out a reset on your router.

To reset the router, press the reset button for at least 10 seconds. After that, your router will go back to factory default settings. 

Unexpected Error 2123

If you see this prompt on your screen, then select OK. After that, you must reset and reconfigure your router. You may even get a prompt to update Linksys Smart Wi-Fi. If such a thing happens, then perform the update.

You may also receive a prompt for creating a Linksys cloud account. When you see this message, you must not skip this step and create one. 

Unexpected Error 2112 

This is an error that appears because of making a change in the configuration which is not compatible with the device. The error may also appear if the configuration is not compatible with the functionality of the firmware.

If a user tries to push an invalid mac address in the filtering settings of the Mac. In order to fix this problem, you need to factory reset your device. 

Unexpected Error 2118

This error appears if there is an IPv6-related error on your network. To fix this problem, go to your Linksys cloud account. After that, visit your router settings and then select Connectivity. Then, select Internet Settings and then choose IPv6.

Then, disable IPv6. In case this does not fix your problem, then you need to factory reset your device. Once you are done resetting your device, you need to upgrade the firmware of your router. 

Error 2178

You see this error message on your screen if two devices in the network have the same name or IP address. In order to fix this problem, you need to turn off your devices and then turn them back on one by one. In case you are still encountering an issue, then turn off your devices one more time and then try to access your Linksys cloud account.
