In case you lost your installation disc, then you must go to the Linksys website and then select support. After that, you must look for your model number. Then, select Download and then select the option of download the Setup software.
When you get the software you require for the setup, you must run it. Then, launch the wireless N setup.
Step 1: Connect your Linksys extender to the power source close to your router device.
Step 2: Please ensure that your PC is connected to your wireless repeater with an ethernet wire running between them.
Step 3: Now, a prompt will appear on your screen asking you to extend the network.
- Click on the WPA security mode and then enter the password of your wireless router.
- After that, select the option of Save.
- Then, the extended name of your network will appear as _EXT at the end.
- It may show that the XYZ network is the home network. After that, the network will display as XYZ_EXT.

If by any chance you lost your CD or it gets destroyed, then there s another method that you can apply to set up your Linksys extender. You need a mobile device or computer with an updated browser to set up your extender using this method.
Perform the steps given below for the setup.
Step 1: Keep your wireless repeater close to your router device. It needs to be in the same room or at a maximum distance of 5-10 feet.
Step 2: After that, you are required to connect your cell phone or laptop to the extender. The name of the extender will appear in your Wi-Fi list.
Step 3: If the name of your network does not appear on your screen, then you must connect your extender to your PC directly.
Step 4: Launch an internet browser on the device that is connected to your wireless extender. After that, enter the IP address 192.168.1.1 or extender.linksys.setup.
Step 5: This will launch the setup page of your wireless repeater. Now, enter the username and password. Enter admin in the username section and password in the password section.
Step 6: Choose the network that you would wish for your extender to set up. Also, enter the password.
Step 7: When the process gets completed, the LED light will become stable, which ensures that there is a proper connection.
Step 8: Disconnect your extender and place it between your router and the area where you need connectivity.
